Unfortunately from what I can see there is no way to sort by state for the purposes of this discussion

And the other site is a pay site so

I hear you. Just wanted to point that that the scratch players ranking is a pretty strange way to rank players.

My uncle is an old man, but he did win the BR Amateur a few years back - Paul Castro. Their group plays out at Pelican and has some players - though I can see padding a handicap at Pelican pretty easy - good greens and no rough...

Pelican used to have a ton of good players. This is 10 or so years back. Not sure what happened to them all but it used to be full of scratch golfers.

Bayou De Siard was the best I have personally ever seen in the early 90s.

I remember that final 18 holes, ben wheeler finished 2nd. Castro fatted a 2nd shot in the middle of the lake on 18 and i believe still made 6.

They had about 15 guys with plus handicaps and if you did not make 4 or 5 birdies in the saturday game, you lost a few hundy.

That is impressive.

Cotton states was always my favorite tournament in the late 90's.

According to the worldwide amateur rankings the Louisiana Mid-Ams look like this:

Really? Weave doesn't crack that list?

No. I don't ever get the chance to play anymore.

ETA: if I end up going National Guard, that'll change in a minute
