I'm wondering despite all the issues the black community faces today, why hasn't the GOP been able to attract more blacks to their party?
Got a depo at the US Attorney's office tomorrow. I'm going to show this to all my black attorney buds just to reaffirm for them what white trash republicans think about all black people.

Some of them were kind enough to answer this question way back.
Obamaphones

If by "white trash" you mean the productive, law-abiding Americans that fund all the Obama phones ,ebt cards, etc and put up with all the crime and the failed schools and the gargantuan levels of black pathology, awesome. Of course being on The Black Plantation, and taking orders from their Democratic Overseers, they probably won't be too interested in batting around ideas.

Blacks view a giant paternalistic govt as a protector against the tyranny of the majority. You can throw in a totally rational fear of the free market because a totally free market rewards the intelligent and the hard working...it punishes low IQ and sloth.
Therefore, the Dems don't have to do anything to keep the black vote. They merely have to represent 'Govt as Daddy.'

Whatever you prefer son. I personally, talk like an adult and prefer to discuss things in The Arena of Ideas. But if insult and pejorative is "your thing" by all means, wave that white flag that lets us know you are unfit for the intellectual rigor required with Big Boy discussions.

To be fair, I don't think these criticisms are aimed at educated black professionals.

Maybe while you are there you could ask them if they believe they owe their success to personal initiative or to The Democratic Party? Did they pass the bar, or is the Democratic Party responsible for that? Was it the Democratic Party that passed The Civil Rights Act? Was it the Democratic Party that freed the slaves? Did the values they showed in attaining an education emanate from The Democratic Party?
Maybe if you feel like a little honesty instead of liberal patronization, you could ask "What do you think is holding black people back?". You might ask if the Democratic Cult of Victimhood has proved to be a sufficient remedy to the social pathologies gripping the black community? You might ask if the dependence on State remedy that The Democratic Party prescribes has improved things for black people or made it worse ? You might ask them if replacing The black American Dad with a welfare check as the Democrats did with The Great Society has worked out for blacks? You might want to ask if creating the acceptable proposition that black Americans are a permanent client of The Democratic Party has been good for them? You might want to ask why the black illegitimacy rate in my life time has gone from roughly one in three to roughly eight in ten? And what has that spawned ? Those questions might be a good starting point for your discussion.

Way to deflect from the actual issue

You are wasting your time....this jackass doesn't understand the conversation.
He automatically arseumees that conservatives are speaking of hard working black folks.

So your going to tell some attorney friends tomorrow that some people on a internet message board were telling the truth?

You are asking the wrong question. I'm wondering despite all the issues the black community faces today, why hasn't the GOP been able to attract more blacks to their party?
The thing that I would be most worried about though is the idea that the black community is pushed to the side when it comes to the Democratic Party agenda since there is no threat of them leaving in any substantial numbers.

He will never ask those type of questions for fear of being told he is not "down with the cause". He is "educated"
Your above statement though....

This is the most important point yet. I have close friends that are black, and we share MANY of the same values that make individuals conservative. BUT they have been brainwashed for years that conservatives are racists, and that dems will "take care of them".
Even when everything is laid out point by point...issue by issue, and they agree with everything conservatives say.....they only comeback to the MSM mantra= conservatives are racists.
They can't give any other reasoning....it's a losing battle

If you read this board you'd think there was no such thing. Just read the responses in this thread. Its not just poor blacks who are more likely to vote D its also rich and middle class blacks. You think they are sucking on the govt tit and vote that way for their Obama phones?
How about the Jewish and Asian demographics? They also overwhelmingly vote D (sure, not the same rate as blacks but still over 70%). Why don't threads discussing those voting trends pop up like similar threads relating black voting habits? Thats actually more of an interesting discussion IMO. Maybe its because people would actually have to think and lazy rationalizations like "sucking the govt tit" won't fly?

It actually makes me sad that we have these problems.
It makes me sad that the black community (most) is being taken advantage of by liberals (and Rinos).
I don't think that anyone here is trying to demean black people....just curious as to why conservatives can't break through. Even when the values of many black people align with conservatives.
