You are wrong

deepdeltatiger was responding to Adam4LSU, who said:

quote:

I know for a fact the entire team loves it and this just confirms the same for recruits

In this context deepdeltatiger is not saying every team member does not like it, he is saying he knows for a fact 1 or more team members do not like it -- denying the universal support Adam4LSU asserted. Unless you have polled every team member, you have no basis -- and claim no basis -- to say deepdeltatiger is wrong.

In my view vulgarity is inappropriate anywhere that ladies and children are welcome. It's rude, immature, classless, and lacks creativity. As an alumnus (alumni is masculine plural, btw) it is embarrassing to me.

When you see them dancing and laughing at it you realize they're 18 and find it hilarious. STTDB is a tradition/recruiting tool.

If it affects even one recruits decision that's too much. The school has asked them to stop or at least tone it down. If you really bleed p&g, just stop and make the person next to you stop. It's not the 18 yo who pay the bucks that support the school. If a few lose they're season tickets the rest will stop. Def not something to be proud of apparently were the worst in the sec. So....just stop.

I see both points of view.
Students see it as pride and swagger.
Alumni see it as unnecessary and vulgar.

Both are right.

IMO, student section yelling throughout the game does buy them some latitude.
Donating alumni that sit quietly have purchased some latitude.

All in all, I say it's a wash.
So, only worry about what you can control and enjoy the game.

Seems to have had a positive effect. I think playing day games and not getting to show recruits Tiger Stadium under the lights hurts recruiting more. but no one is going to give up TV deals.

NO but without students LSU doesn't get to play in the NCAA. Sorta need those to be a college football team.
