he original one could fly around and blow shite up.

The new one was basically immobile because the shield generators protecting it were on the adjacent planet.
The #1 plot flaw in ROTJ.

Why build a Death Star that is only protected my orbiting a moon?

they have to build it somewhere.. and protect it during its construction.... don't know why y'all see this as an issue.

It was only being protected by the shield on Endor because it wasn't completed (I figured that was obvious by the fact that half of it was missing). The emperor tricked the rebels into thinking it wasn't operational, but it was. It could fire it's main weapon on the bigger ships, but it still wasn't complete. Once it was completed, it would've been like the original Death Star.

The 2nd Death Star being operational was a trap to draw in the entire Rebel Alliance fleet and destroy it.

Also, Endor and the Ewoks was another instance of Lucas screwing up Star Wars trying to appeal to kids. The original concept was for ROTJ to have Wookies and not Ewoks. Wookies are bad arse warriors that are 7 or 8 feet tall and live in the tops of trees in cities that look just like where the Ewoks lived.

Lucas just shrunk the Wookies into Ewoks.

Lucas is an a-hole.
