I know the feeling, I've owed for the last 6 yrs.... this year CPA says expect an 18-22K bill!! Small business owner, they sure have figured out how to screw us!! Now I'm currently being audited by State of LA.... we're pretty legal so not a big deal but still pisses me off to jump through their hoops!

Sounds like you are not making enough quarterly payments.
When I was married, I owed $ every year, bc my wife was self employed and never made a single quarterly payment. Then she would act shocked when the tax bill came due. Frustrating.

I'm a payer. Can't remember the the last time I got a refund. Plus, I've been audited by the state twice in the last six years!

Hell, I might just tell her to slip a few selfies into an envelope to the IRS and we call it even.

Be sure to send those to me in an envelope.

No, but maybe we should. We get treated the same either way.

If you can't afford ammo and a few guns off of that gross, then something seems very wrong with your spending.

Glad for yeah but I expected to owe since we made over $150000 but it still rubs me the wrong way.
That means nothing. I ALWAYS get money back. But wife is a CPA and so is my madre.

that's true haha my dad's boss is really outspoken and donates a lot (one of his sons hs buddies was a campaign guy for romney, so he was pretty involved) and the froze his accounts without warning... he literally only had $40 cash in his pocket during his "investigation."
way too much authority, too many horror stories

Most people only look at what they pay or get back at filing time. It will shock most people to actually add up what you pay in a calendar year, not just when filing the return.

It does. With BR private schools we pay about 15k each year in tuition too. My annual tax bill is substantial, but I'm waiting to set aside enough cash for a new pistol. I live paycheck to paycheck due to how much I route to savings while I can, but everything you listed does add up.

Yeah I find good deals sometimes and all I can do is shake my head and hope it's around later on and that Obama doesn't make it hard for me to find or own it later on. I would love to buy 3-4 crates of 7.62x54R but it's either that and not eat or eat and save up what $$$$$ I can.
