Big state schools like LSU have more to do, better sports, and tailgating. Theyre also cheaper. But its easier to meet people and be the "big man on campus" in a small school like Tulane or Rice. Has anyone gone to both? Whats the party scene like?
There is a difference between big state schools in Texas, California, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Florida and big state schools like LSU.

I liked going to a small school cause I was able to do meet people faster through classes, my major, research, band, fraternity, etc.
Could you not do this at a big school? Or is your mission to meet literally everyone on campus?

I hate the stadium classrooms with 400 students.
If you make it past lower level classes it gets better

Do people really pick a college to go to because of the football team? Lol

I went to a smaller state school for undergrad - UTC in Chattanooga. Loved it. It wasn't the smallest campus in the UT system, but it wasn't as massive as UT-Knoxville, so it was a happy medium. Great extra-curriculars etc. Greek life was pretty close-knit as well. I went to a bigger state school for law school, and it was just fine as well. It helped that it was an SEC school. Looking at the amount of student loans I have now, I'm glad I went state for both schools.

I had a friend from Georgia when I was in school, and I asked him what it was that brought him to LSU. I thought that maybe he had some family here or something. He said that he had always been a fan of the football team. I thought that was wierd as hell, but it's certainly possible that he just didn't have the grades to make it into Georgia.

Why? Is there some kind of correlation between the weight of a woman and her preference for state or private schools?

Possibly.
I just never thought once about how good a schools football team was when I was picking a college to go to.

This.
Got my Bachelor's from LSU then took my victory lap at Tulane for my Master's. I enjoyed my time at both schools immensely and I wouldn't have done it any other way.
