I just don'y appreciate them like I should. I feel weird knowing I haven't seen 90% of the best out there.

Give me 10 must see movies. I promise I haven't seen most

Casablanca
City Lights
Seven Samurai
Godfather 1 & 2
The French Connection
The Wild Bunch
Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail
The Searchers
Alien
The Sting

That's off the top of my head. Maybe a good start, maybe not. I tried to hit a few genres and a few decade defining films.

You've seen Star Wars right? Holy Grail?

Watch these and then you can move on to other films with the same directors, stars, etc...

I'll give you a good diverse list for you to watch:

1) The Godfather Parts I and II
2) Star Wars
3) Almost Famous
4) Lawrence of Arabia
5) Casablanca
6) Pan's Labyrinth
7) Spirited Away
8) City Lights
9) Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail
10) One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
11) Die Hard

These are films judging from what you've said in previous posts that I don't think you would have seen, and I've tried to get every genre I can on there. All these are good examples on what you can expect from a certain genre. This is something most film nerds do is attach to some genres more than others. I think this is a good start, but I wouldn't say these are the 11 best films of all time or my top 11 films of all time. Hope you enjoy these and some other suggestions in this thread.

God, so many come to mind. I'm sure I'm leaving some classics out, but off the top of my head now, I'd say:

Godfather 1 & 2 (I consider them as one)
Star Wars, episodes IV, V (same)
Planet of the Apes (1968)
2001: A Space Odyssey
Alien/Aliens (same)
The Thing (1982)
Patton
Shawshank Redemption
Braveheart
Silence of the Lambs

To Kill a Mockingbird
Casablanca
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

A Few Good Men
A River Runs Through It

Once Upon a Time in the West

That's 12. I broke the rules. Watch them all anyway.

I'd pull up that 200 Movies That Don't Suck thread, start with the first, and work your way down.
