Yea our office is moving to Harvey in Sept. Its analyst work. 100 percent federally funded.

I am looking to hire an outside sales rep for my Mandeville/north shore office. Monday through Friday 8:30-5. Suit required as dress code everyday.
It is not easy work and takes about 8-12 months to really get it down, but those that make it do very well. Every sales rep over 5 years tenured makes 100k+.

What is your education/ experience in? I do good bit of work on the north shore and could possibly help you out
I work mostly in O&G and semiconductor facilities but I know a lot of my current clients are hiring.

People drive an 1+ hours every day for work. Suck it up if you really want to work. Unless you don't have the desire that you are saying you do?

People just don't want to work. The younger kids getting out of college think that everyone makes $85k coming out of the gate because that's what all their friends tell them they are doing...except they are all full of shite.
Rome wasn't built in a day, but if you stick with something and don't throw in the towel at the first sign of difficulty, you will eventually learn and get better. I find that the latest generation (not everyone, but many), want instant results. It doesn't work that way.

And even then, I don't know how a driver would make 5k a week. Even working solo and breaking the new driving hours laws, cutting a check plus the weeks fuel seems impossible. But there is always ways around driving hours...

My point proven. Many folks don't want to be inconvenienced with work or a job.
I agree with above--shite man, it's only 35 minutes away. Do you REALLY want a job?

I went to college and din't like what I was getting into. In my spare time I fixed cars and other people's things. I found I had a knack for diagnosing electronics. I started fixing computer hardware issues and then realized there was more money in consumer electronics, then moved to large appliances.
Average $80 a call, 8-10 calls a day. I keep everything the government don't take. I never work more than 30-35 hours a week.
Luckily NOLA metro is relatively small and isolated from sprall.
Blue collar but every year has been better than the last.
Self taught in the field.

Guess I will look like an a-hole here but if your mom had breast cancer surgery, why does that require someone to be off work for several years? There are a multitude of programs providing home care for cancer patients in addition to the care rendered when you aren't working. Story just doesn't add up.

I didn't really want to go there but...
Sounds like this guy could be using his mom's sickness as a subconscious excuse not to work. With all due respect to the sick party, do you really need to quit a job to help a person with cancer? How do the millions of other people get by? Employers probably feel the same way.
You gotta do what you gotta do. Like the guy who took a job as a manager at Krystal Burger... do something
