Are roof top performances gonna be a thing like Jimmy Kimmel's outdoor concert series? Cool, if so.

I hope so too.

Hopefully the old people like him since they are what drive the Tonight shows ratings.

I am just hoping they let Jimmy be Jimmy, and don't try to force him into a boring tonight show host.

Me too, but he is going to have to do something to pull in the "older" audience as well. As it stands now, my dad (65) would have no interest in "history of hip hop dance" and bits like that.

Jimmy is a safe act. Funny and doesn't get political. I just hope he stays funny and non political. Dave turns me off because he try's to jump outside the funny

It's a delicate balance. I am mid 30's and haven't watched the 10:30 slot shows in years. I got sick of Dave and Jay, but would turn it over to watch Jimmy after they went off. NBC has to decide do they want to cater to an older group who probably will stop watching anyways, or build a foundation with my age demographic who will watch it till Jimmy retires.

Connan wasn't a good choice to do that with.

Gotta make 10:30 with Jimmy a nightly thing for myself. Much easier now that it's an hour earlier

Conan was dumb for trying move out West. Plus his funny is not made for the slot.. Reason his rating bombed.

NBC made him do that. He fought it and lost.

I think he's been good so far. He's just literally such a genuinely nice guy.

The skit with all the celebs was pretty cool. Will Smith is a great first guest. The Roots are amazing. He's in New York.

I'm hoping he does a lot of skits and gives it a small SNL feel. He'll get great guests because he has a great circle.

I like it a lot.

Yeah that was a pretty solid spur of the moment performance.

Edit: I'm sure it was planned, impressive nonetheless.

Very good first show. Felt a lot like his Late Night show which is a good thing.

Yeah, I was a huge fan of Conan, and when he came into the Tonight Show it was tough for me to watch. His style didn't fit what they wanted him to mold into. I'm hoping they let Jimmy do his thing, I have watched him since the beginning, even with his struggles early on, his show was constantly evolving to fit his strengths. Happy with the first show.
