Everything said so far, while not being directly related to LSU, wouldn't exist without LSU. I'm trying to think of something. I would have said it doesn't get very cold in winter, but that's out the window.

BREC and BR water are not dependent on LSU

State government is #2.

LSU is #3.

Standard Oil (Exxon plant) was built when LSU was a small school on the current site of the state Capitol.
