We recently had a program honoring honor roll students, perfect attendance, etc. I had no less than 6 phone calls the next day, with at least one parent cussing me out, over her child not getting a perfect attendance award. She couldn't grasp the concept that when your child comes in 30-40 minutes late every other day =/= perfect attendance. She thought he should get the award because "he showed up".
She contacted our Board of Education and I actually had to take time out of my day to talk to a parent liaison about it. You know, that time I'm supposed to be spending with other kids during instruction time. It's fricking absurd.

Both of my kids are on A honor roll. They get to have donut party's, breakfast at McDonalds, and a pizza party. If they didn't make good grades and couldn't attend these things tough titty, make better grades and study harder next time.

Relax, man. Does this story change the fact that Glenn Beck is a tool? No. Did he write the article that went along with the YouTube video containing his most popular buzzwords "Obama" and "Socialism"? Yes. So let's not act like this has nothing to do with Beck.

Funnily enough, most of those kids in that honor roll party will probably be liberal, since on average liberals are smarter than conservatives.
The media in general wants to turn everything into a controversy. On both sides, bc that's how they get ratings, by making us scared and/or mad.

No worries, success isn't measured by awards or honor roll systems... success is measured by happiness and money.
The pussification of America is bullshite, but those that work hard are still rewarded. A lot of deadbeats are living off of gov't handouts, but do they really feel good about that? If so, then I feel sorry for them.
Intrinsic satisfaction is what matters in the end. And these pussies that never work for anything are in for a rude awakening when they are 35 and flipping burgers at McD's.
