She wasn't trying to give them out in class because there aren't enough spots at the party for every kid in class. So,she attempted to give a few of her friends their invites at lunch and recess and they got taken away and she got reprimanded.

I understand the schools don't want kids feelings to get hurt which is why they impose the rule about giving them out in class but this seems a little over the top,no?

Quick question. How many black students were refused invites?

We go through the same thing every year with our daughter. Just mail them to the kids you want to invite.

We just did this on Monday as well. Gave my son 8 invitations to hand out and when he gets home he tells me he gave one to his bus driver and his teacher.

Common sense, bro.. Mail them if you cant invite everyone..

- Not saying I see anything wrong with it but I can see the problem the school might have..

I don't blame the school. Even though you think kids won't notice because it's at recess, they will all be talking about it.

Now if everyone was invited, I don't see why you couldn't pass them out at school. But mail them

They should have suspended her at lunch when she was trying to usurp their authority. Sounds like you got way more problems on your hands than undelivered invitations.

I hate the way schools are run these days.

Invitations are part of life. People are going to get invited to every party or every wedding. Better to learn how to deal with it young.

You've got to put yourself in the shoes of the administration and imagine how many phone calls they get over petty stuff like this, yes...parents will call the school and bitch because their sweet baby didn't get invited to little Johnny's party

Yep those are pretty standard rules in school. Makes sense to me.

Back in MY day kids weren't allowed to hand out invites unless all kids were invited. I'm kind of with the school on this one. Mail in the invites. Handing them out at school is inappropriate. Sorry.

Some kids will get their feelings hurt. Just mail them or call the parents.
