Are you dead set on strictly old country guys? There is plenty of awesome new stuff that channels that old school sound. I hate pop country but I find that there are lots of country artists I like a lot.

Jason Eady, Turnpike Troubadours, John Moreland, Hayes Carll...list goes on and on.

John Fullbright is my personal favorite, although he's more bluesy and americana than country...amazing, though, so if you're feeling open-minded, check him out.

I appreciate the requests

I'm looking more for newer singers that are still making music, but anything will do.

yeah Fullbright is not the country he seems to be referring to, but Gawd Above is a great tune.
