There isn't one. Few better burgers but no best.

Baton Rouge is a city filled with mediocre to above average burgers.

My preference is Raul's on Highland at State Street.

Call me crazy, but I'm a big fan of the red stick burger from portabellos.

Blend. Hands down for me, even though I can't speak for the Fleming's burger I've had pretty much every other burger in this town. No one really thinks about a wine bar downtown as having a great burger, but it's a diamond in the rough. I will also throw a vote in for Stroube's.

I ate Fat Burger a couple three weeks ago and it was pretty fricking mediocre. Better than Raul's though.

And I still contend that the best burger in Baton Rouge is the Copeland Burger.

Three Bones Catering Food Truck. Their smokehouse burger comes with mushrooms and swiss cheese on it. The man puts in smoked brisket into the ground beef. He is grilling most Saturday nights at Uncle Earl's. It just made its way to my number one favorite burger, ahead of dearman's bacon cheeseburger and Maxwell's bacon avocado cheeseburger. Haven't got to try Mason's yet, but have had George's (good) and burgersmith (o.k.) and fat cow (overpriced).
