Agreed. Randazzos king cake has weird taste. It's not even top 5.
Fwiw. . . I'd put Atwoods in Alexandria against any king cake in and around New Orleans.

The weird taste is that red food color taste. I think it's the colored sprinkles they use. Still prefer Manny's to Haydel's even with the weird taste.

Always though Randazzos cakes had an odd lemony taste to them. Not sure if it's the icing or the cake. The texture of the dough is fantastic though.
