Last March an Iranian jet tried to intercept one of our drones in international airspace in the Persian Gulf area. Their jet was an ancient F-4 Phantom jet that the U.S. discarded not long after the Vietnam war.
A U.S. F-22 Raptor stealth fighter jet sneaked up behind and below the Persian fighter undetected to check out its weapons. Then the U.S. pilot then pulled up alongside the Iranian jet, radioed the Iranian pilot and said, "You really ought to go home." It was a true-life, Top Gun-worthy moment!
The Persian hauled arse.
