ACC is considering 8 game + 1 SEC game schedule

ACC officials have also broached the idea of a model in which conference teams would play eight league games and one SEC opponent every season, according to several sources from both conferences.
Four schools in the ACC -- Florida State, Georgia Tech, Clemson and incoming member Louisville -- already have built-in SEC rival games during the final week of the regular season.
An SEC source told ESPN.com that the ACC's idea of an "8+1 model" was merely a concept that had been discussed only once and was a long way from being a reality.
Not sure if it will happen, but it is an interesting concept. Aside from the 4 listed above, doesn't Vandy & Wake play each other the last game of the season?

LSU would get stuck playing FSU every year and Bama would get Duke or BC

One of these teams is getting the better end of the deal.

LSU would volunteer to match up with Miami

Those who don't have border rivals, will be fighting for the teams in SEC recruiting areas.
Everyone wants Miami, it only enhances your recruiting as you can guarantee the kid 2 times he will play at home.
There will be some bitching and fighting. No one wants pitt/syracuse

This is actually a pretty cool idea. Something different on TV for a lot of the country. Would be interesting if they could make everyone rotate...even if it's only the newcomers to the deal.

Our team was started by a Virginia alum, and he gave us their colors...so I guess we could take Virginia?

I think they'd probably rotate the remaining games that are not instate rivalries. It would be more interesting from year to year.

LSU vs. Miami in the Swagger Bowl every season would be awesome.

Love this idea. Would like to do it in a rotating pod system

We need to start playing Miami again.

I would love that as long as we rotate opponents.
1 home/home vs ACC
1 home/home vs Big 12
1 game vs MAC/Sun belt/AAC/MWC/CUSA opponent
9 SEC games. Now that would be an awesome schedule

Leave Florida/Florida St, Georgia/Georgia Tech, South Carolina/Clemson and Kentucky/Louisville the way they are and make one more permanent rivalry (Vanderbilt/Wake Forest.)
The remaining teams should rotate on a 9 year basis. If LSU plays home against Miami in 2015 then they would play at Miami in 2025
2015 Miami
2016 @ Boston College
2017 Pitt
2018 @ UNC
2019 Virginia
2020 @ NC State

and so on.
Or they can play home and home in back to back years

This can only benefit the ACC. What does the SEC have to gain? We should have the SEC West play the Big 12 and the SEC East play the ACC and then rotate through all of the teams with home/home series.
Why would LSU want to play Miami every year? We already play Florida.
