Unsure what I believe

I think it's a LOT more likely that he's a perfect example of a guy who thought he was on the inside enough to know, but wasn't...and at the same time will say anything to take protect the kid because he is close to him and cares about him.

If the kid faxed a LOI, I don't really think there is much more to discuss.

"I just explored my options and took all my visits, took all five of 'em before I was ready to decide which school I was gonna go to," he said. "But LSU always was my leader … I've got a great bond with the players over there, Duke Riley and guys like that, and I wanted to go win a national championship in Louisiana, stay in Louisiana and win a national championship for the home (team)."

quote:

Word began circulating Tuesday night that Ole Miss was now the favorite for the Green Devils' standout. But Godchaux brushed off questions that he might join the Rebels and ultimately opted to stay remain close to home and recommit himself to the Tigers, this time in writing. "I want to thank Coach Hugh Freeze and the Ole Miss coaching staff," he said quickly. "They're a really good coaching staff, and I built a good bond with them, and I'm sad it's got to come to an end, but I'm moving on to bigger and better things, and that's the university of LSU. I'm just ready to get in there and rehab and get ready to play as a freshman."

quote:

"I'm glad it's ending, so I can just focus on rehab and just get ready to play. I'm just so hungry to play football. I've been out about to be a whole year in September, so I'm just ready to play. I'm ready to grind and win a national championship in Baton Rouge."

Yeah... sure sounds like he doesnt want to be here and was forced to sign with us

Well, I guess we are done here. You are always going to believe this theory, no matter what.

He could come out tomorrow and say, "I was never going to Ole Miss, that is a bogus rumor" and you would say "what do you expect him to say? Of course he is going to say that now".

What I do know is he flat out said that LSU was "always my leader" while sporting a smile. I think his word trumps an internet rumor and an innocuous tweet, but, hey, to each their own.

article states that willis was a silent to florida in november.
I'd totally blee dis.

And I'd also believe that rumor that GW3 was still trying to call the LSU folks *after* the UA game.

Thank God that woman has no more spawn with which to troll LSU. Even if she did, I hope we've learned to put her on the blocked caller list.

where does he slight Ole Miss there?

there is no doubt he has some love for LSU, so im sure it wasnt hard for him to play that card afterward. I still think he wanted to go to Ole Miss though.

He didn't just take visits. He publicly stated that he was opening up his recruitment. You don't remember that? Then, after walking that back a bit, he later made the statement that he was going to be making his decision on Signing day.

There was PLENTY of smoke surrounding Godchaux leading up to yesterday.

Uhh the part where he thanked Ole Miss and their coaching staff and then said "but I'm moving on to bigger and better things, and that's the university of LSU."

I call that a slight.

He said he was opening up his recruitment to take his visits, but also said hes committed to LSU and they are his leader. He said that in just about every interview the past month or so.

By his own words, what he said alarmed LSU's staff and they were calling him asking him what was up. I don't think it makes a whole lot of sense to pretend that what he said wasn't significant.

Plus, LSU being a "leader" is very different than being committed.

If the kid actually faxed a LOI to Ole Miss, it pretty much says it all.

Been fun Lester

This has gone on long enough, I am just going to leave it at this.

Here is what you think:

Here is what I think:

There is no doubt that he has some love for Ole Miss, but I take him at his word that he wanted to go to LSU and I think that the Ole Miss LOI stuff is BS

And what did he tell the LSU coaches when they contacted him? That hes still committed and are #1 for him.

Faxing a LOI that means nothing isnt the same as faxing a LOI.

Ive got a lot of monopoly $, doesnt mean im rich.

Ok. You are entitled to your opinion. I think it's counter to the evidence. But, I have no inside info. I'm just reading the tea leaves.
