Please will someone explain to me how this guy got overlooked by the recruiting services. I just watched his senior highlights and IMO... he is the gym of the class. Big, strong, and has a mean streak that rivals the best defensive players in the NFL. I just don't get how the recruiting services didn't at least have him at 4 stars. Hell, he looked like a 5 star for me. Maybe there is something that I'm missing. What do you guys think about him? Watch his senior highlights.

i think it's mostly height..

Trey's height is listed all over the place, from 6'0 to 6'2.... but here is a pic of 2 of our new guys.. Trey is 55 far left, Sione Teuhema is 19 right next to him... Sione is listed 6'3-6'4

he looked like he could be almost 6+ inches taller than Trey easily.

Happy to have them both on our side. I think we all see what you see on video. Great motor! Warrior spirit!

Gonna get Samoa-south going on down here!

More importantly, how are we supposed to pronounce this guy's name. I have been calling him "The Trey from Texas".
I want to start practicing name. Gonna need to say it a lot for a few years. =D

I agree, his highlights were much better than I was expecting. I put WAY more stock in offers than stars though and he had offers from Texas, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Oregon and a lot more.

It can be hard to make yourself ignore star ratings sometimes, but this kind of prospect reminds me how little the "experts" know. Coaches are MUCH better evaluators than sports writers.

Recruiting services rank kids based on their nfl potential, not college. His height will have no affect on how good he is in college. This is a steal, kid is nasty and height is the most overrated measurable out there
