This is Leno's final week after 22 years as The Tonight Show host.

I thought he started slow but really came into his own mid-way and did a really good job overall following a legend. Thoughts on his tenure?

I'll believe it the moment he croaks.

Tons of backstabbing, being completely unoriginal, and a bad suck-up interviewer. Yeah, I know the Hugh Grant story, but what all controversial thing has he done since then?

One of the all time greats. He could stay the host of the Tonight Show for another 10 years and still be at the top of the ratings.

At least Leno is better than Fallon.

Oh hey iPod, didn't see you there.

Wow, pretty strong negative posts initially.

Regarding Conan, Jay has said he was simply told, "you're out" after many years of being #1. Then, they ask him to come back after Conan was not doing well at all. Very awkward of course, but I can't say I wouldn't have done the same in his position. And then Jay resumed the #1 spot pretty quickly.

And again, he's replacing arguably the best talk show host ever in Carson. I thought he did an admirable job under the circumstances.

I've watched Leno religiously since the late 90s. I've always loved his monologues and headlines. Leno was must-see TV when Terry Bradshaw was a guest. I'm gonna miss his show.

I will say though that I'm looking forward to the Fallon/Meyers double header starting in a few weeks.

Mostly boring and unfunny to be honest. Never enjoyed him as a stand up and always found his schtick hard to watch once he took over the Tonight Show. It became unwatchable for me right around the OJ trial...

I had a lot of respect for Leno before the whole Conan fiasco, but since then, I could count the number of times I've tuned in to his show on one hand.

He should've respectfully bowed out like he said he would, regardless if he really wanted to or not. He hurt the integrity of the Tonight Show with that move.

I'm very excited for Fallon to take over. I know it will be great with him at the helm.

Jay is a prick licking, corporate shill, that would do anything and cheat anyone to get what he wants. He won't stay out of the spot light, he's too full of himself, that's what happened the first time he "retired"

Was funny early in career, but do NOT understand his TV popularity. Can't stand a host who always chuckles at his own lines and then repeats it as fading voice reaction.

Nor do I like the entrance where there are plants in the audience set up to shake his hand once is on stage. Contrived self-serving act.

Greatly looking forward to Jimmy Fallon as host. Refreshing comedic talent to replace the egotistical Leno. Exit stage right. Good riddance.

When Carson retired 22 years ago, it was all anyone could talk about. It was basically wall-to-wall coverage. His final two shows were legendary.

Compare that to Leno's exit. While his "retirement" a few years ago probably plays a role in this, but Leno's exit tonight is kind of an afterthought.

Amazing how things have changed in two decades.

He was no Johnny, in my opinion. I gave him a try when Johnny retired but he didn't appeal to me and I stopped watching. I must admit that I never gave him another opportunity so if he has improved I haven't seen it.
