re: Does everyone deserve equal rights?

I'm not against the idea of a higher power, but I think it's pretty clear he isn't that interested in our day to day existence and hasn't instilled in us innate rights and morals. If he/it did, we wouldn't constantly debate even our most basic "rights". Even the concept of not killing others varies from place to place and era to era. Most humans who've ever lived were much more liberal about death and killing than we are.
