AP83, you have a very simpleton way of looking at things. no one is saying a squad full of 2 and 3 stars are the ultimate, just don't get so hung up on the stars. We pay some experts in the field of football a helluva lot of money to judge and develop talent, and then many guys get pissed when those same evaluators do not recruit according to some guys on line or in a magazine.

He was with the Broncos...and considering the small amount of touches he had, he was fairly effective. Unfortunately for him, not many NFL teams utilize a fullback these days.

I think the point he is making is you can be hype and excited for the 5* guys but not forget that 2/3* can help build a program and they are there for a reason. We may not get Adoree Jackson but be excited for a guy like John Battle.

Agree with you. Get all the 5*s we can but there are some good 2 and 3s as well.

As long as guys want to be LSU Tigers, that is who I want on our team.

Recruiting services do not 4* will contribute project players based on how they will translate to the NFL. They project players on how they will translate to college play. For example a 5* is projected to contribute meaningfully as a freshman. A high ranking 4* will contribute after one or two years. The rest will contribute as they mature.

At 22 there is no more growth in height and speed and agility are topped out. Some 2*, 3*, 4* and even unranked players have developed better than the players ranked above them at 18 years of age. The NFL scouts have to do their own ranking.

Hester was projected as a fullback and the only reason his stars were few. Look at him on film or the offers from major programs and it was obvious the kid was a baller albeit an overly modest one.
