Its pretty common for NFL players to have bonuses related to playing in or making it to the super bowl.

Topic for debate: Should the Bronco's players receive this bonus.

Also: Do you think they should receive a penalty for crappy play by the Bronoco's organization?

Just some topics for debate. Im somewhere in the middle. Obviously if its in the contract, the team is going to have to pay it. Or take it to court and present a strong enough case that they don't owe the players. This won't happen, too big of a deal. The debate is for your opinion and hypothetical debate.

EDITED for those that can't read well.

If it's in their contract, then it's not up for debate. Stupid question.

Players Union wont let it happen. They finally got someone with a brain running that thing. If Upshaw was still in charge, you may could get away with it. But Smith actually antagonizes the owners.

Manning's tax bill from New Jersey is more than the money he got for playing in the Super Bowl.

Yes. They played in the Super Bowl

Pragmatically speaking, if they penalize a player for poor play, not only will they need to overpay for every free agent since they'll be known for screwing people over, but they'll also catch loads of heat from at least the NFL and NFLPA.

A contract is a contract. Screwing your players isn't a good way to keep your players happy.

Did the Broncos players make it to and play in the Super Bowl? Well there's your answer.

Should 30 other NFL teams be penalized for not even making it to the super bowl? Should any team that misses the playoffs be penalized? What about teams who don't finish .500?

There isn't really anything to debate here. They made the game, they get their bonus. It is also my opinion that this may be the worst thread in MSB history.
