Move the ball for the better shot is basketball 101, you probably don't want Monty thinking any differently honestly. On the one hand you don't want to slow the Bull in the China Shop down. On the other hand Tyreke is effective because the defense just can't stop him, regularly passing out of the quadruple team and having 3s knocked down just gives him another attack vector and might open the lane for him. It certainly is something he should work towards, it just needs to come naturally, and I don't think Monty was asking him to force passes, just work on getting better at passing in those situations.

I've noticed the more comfortable he's gotten with the team since the beginning of the year, the more he's distributing the ball when attacking the rim. First 10 games or so of the year he was just attacking and forcing shots. Now he's attacking and distributing more and more.

I believe the more he shows the ability to dish to an open man, the more efficient he will become. He won't have to force as many shots over multiple defenders. The defense will have to respect him as a passer meaning they won't be able to help as much.
