Let me know what you think about it. I had some border patrol on the ranch one night, and they let me use theirs! I quickly decided it wasn't for me after doing a little research. I didn't see many positive reviews on ones ranging $2500 to $3500 and the ones they were using were $8000 up to around $12,000.

got it in and all together, i will be trying it out for the first time next weekend at the camp. i live in ascension parish so i walked outside and obviously had to try it out. the ambient light isn't low enough to get a good judge. i can however see things just a 100 yards away that i couldn't see with the naked eye. i also can easily see things probably 250 to 300 yards away if i had to make that shot. i don't know if i would simply because of a few factors,1 it would be hard to track and start to find a blood trail in the pitch black from something that was shot from that distance unless you absolutely new where the animal was standing. the size of the target to the cross hairs at that distance is a little big. now with that being said I'm not saying a 300 yard shot isn't possible but I'm sure from 100 to 150 is definitely kill range. ill let you know more once its put to a good field test. on down side that i have hear about night vision. ITS A HEAVY GUN!!!!! i could easily make a 50 to maybe 80 yard shot free hand but any longer i might use a rest or a bipod or tripod shooting stick. if i had to do it over i might have used a smaller .308 frame rather than a rock river varmit gun which has a stainless steel 20" barrel but i love the gun its a beast!!!!!!
