Massive avalanches cut off Valdez via road to the Outside

Series of avalanches caused by rain and warmer weather put snow 100 ft deep on the road at Keystone Canyon. The ice dam also caused the river to become a lake. One unfortunate soul was caught inbetween two of the avalanches on the highway, but managed to get out.

Looks like it will be weeks before these folks have road access outside again.
