Although I was spanked as a child and turned out pretty decent I don't spank my kids and they are very respectful/polite. Parents who spank are either to dumb to out think their kids are don't spend enough time with them to gain their respect. What message does spanking send to kids? If you do something wrong...fix it with violence. Not the right message.

spare the rod and spoil the child. My kid will be spanked but not when I am angry and not until they are old enough to understand that spankings are the consequence for acting out.
