When I plug my coax into my DVR, my speakers HUMMMMMM

What could cause this? I've isolated it to the coax going into my dvr ...where I then have HDMI to my reciever .... any ideas ?

Cable into the house isn't grounded. I have the same issue.

I didn't see this. You running a surround sound system? You shouldnt be going into it with HDMI in the first place, you should use a digital (optical) audio cable (the little box that lights up). You also need to ground the receiver.

I had a similar issue at one time with my plasma TV having a scrolling bar going from bottom to top. Granted it was a video problem rather than audio, but the solution may be the same. Turns out it was a ground loop and this fixed it:
