Only 231k people gained insurance from ObamaCare

Only 11% of Obamacare enrollees were previously uninsured
11% of the widely touted 2.1m number (from the McKinsey report discussed in the article).
Even that 2.1m is a suspect amount.
To put this in perspective, that means that Obamacare increased the insured population by 0.09%, or probably more appropriate: only 0.09% of Americans desired to have coverage.
(252m insured increased by 0.231m previously uninsured is 0.09%)
252m is 80% of the 316m US population (assumption that ~20% didn't have coverage before)
Once again I think this is symptomatic of the left's failure to help those that don't want to be helped.
And increased the cost on the existing 252m were many households are stretched to make ends meet.
To quote the crazy-eyed-killah character on curb your enthusiasm "motherf-r what the f?"
FOREWARD!

So let's frick over 3/4 of the population so that less than 1/1000 can get free insurance because they "deserve" it. Got it.

Wasn't 40 million uninsured the number being used during the leadup to Obamacare's passage?
This is the biggest bait and switch I've ever seen. It would be like going to a dealership to buy a new car and walking away with a toaster oven.

Just skimmed through the article, but the 80% number touted in this graph is quickly going to change come summer/fall of this year...

Step #1: ObamaCare/LandrieuCare sets impossible rules for insurance companies to stay in business.
Step #2: ObamaCare/LandrieuCare creates chaos.
Step #3: ObamaCare/LandrieuCare blame insurance companies.
Step #4: ObamaCare/LandrieuCare results in insurance companies going out of business.
Step #5: ObamaCare/LandrieuCare results in Feds "rescuing" the healthcare system by creating complete government controlled single payer healthcare system
Step #6: Obama/Landrieu own your butt. They pay for your life - they will regulate your every move for life. Enjoy!

That graph has to be made up. A large number of employer plans saw increases.
I love how that graph is based on 'estimates.' Why use 'estimates' when there are actual numbers you could use?

Yeah, they are very vague in the "Keep Employer Plans" category... But my point is that estimates from multiple agencies show between 50-100m people could lose employer sponsored healthcare this year. Lets just say they miss that prediction by half on the lower end, thats still 25m people who are SOL.

A large number of employer plans increased because a lot of companies started dropping spouse coverage. So a married couple with both working previously on 1 family plan are now on 2 individual plans or 1 family 1 individual.

That graph needs a "real losers", and a "real winners" representation.
You'd need a microscope to see the "real winners" slice.

It is made up. It counts anyone with an employer plan as unaffected. Total BS because a lot of employer plans became more expensive, raised the deductible, or dropped spousal coverage. They're all significantly worse off.
It also left out people in the individual market who will be losing good plans and will have to pay more for a worse plan in the future. My plan already had no lifetime cap, but it's "substandard" because it doesn't cover drug rehab or contraception.

The less the better considering most of them pay little or no premium.

They didnt mention though they got to keep their plan, it will cost them twice as much.

Your plan did suck. Thank God for Obamacare. Now you have coverage for all that stuff your old, sucky plan ignored so the insurance company could take your money and stick it to you.
Yea ACA!

Won't matter that people know the truth and are outraged, because Obama/Progs have now CRASHED the Industry which served economic Healthcare mechanism. It's a done deal. And they full well know that there is only ONE alternative. And when that 'one' (Government bail out/Fascist/Single-Payer/Whatever) is implemented, and SUCKS big time....well, good luck. That little Christmas railroad display down in Metairie shopping mall nailed it. In the front door of the Government hospital...casket out the back.
If a lot of good folk die, there should be a French Revolution style inquisition for this atrocity. I will turn a blind eye if such occurs. They deserve it...good intentions nws.

I'm sure some had good intentions but the ends were not justified by the means. This shitshow is now law of the land and we have only decreased the uninsured by 0.37% - said another way 99.63% of the uninsured prior to the law are still uninsured.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is hilarious. I can still hear Crazy-Eyes-Killah saying that line.

Their 'good intentions' had little or nothing to do with health care, per se, IS...just like the Global Warming meme relates to a healthy environment. It's ALL about the progression toward Authoritarian Socialism. Period.

And then there's this:
The bailout provisions of Obamacare are found in Sections 1341 and 1342 of the Affordable Care Act, both of which should be repealed. Doing so will be difficult, but it is not impossible. The first provision bails out insurance companies for costs associated with individual patients when they exceed $45,000. Under this so-called reinsurance program, insurers will be able to push off 80 percent of costs between $45,000 and $250,000 onto a fund financed by a fee of $63 per head on customers of insurance companies and workers covered by self-insuring companies. Given that most of the associated costs will almost certainly be passed on to consumers by insurers, that fee is in effect a tax. And in the event that the fund does not generate revenue sufficient to cover its costs — far from an unlikely scenario — then taxpayers will be explicitly on the hook.

With no pre existing conditions rule in affect & $5,000 deductible why would any healthy person under 35 enroll?
I used to think it was for ER visits until-
quote:
typical adult between 18 and 34 buying an ACA plan will pay $1,717 for health care this year—mostly in the form of premiums.
But the average young adult without coverage will pay just $348, which includes the price of going to the doctor, as needed, as well as the penalty for not having insurance. That penalty is $95 or 1 percent of taxable income, whichever is greater.
