I got stuck with a campus job trying to design a database, so I've been teaching myself from scratch. I have the framework built, I'm just missing one very important concept.

Let's say you have the main database with alumni, and then you have 4/5 other tables for competitive teams that represent the university. How can I automatically transfer the unique alumni ID from the main database to the separate competitive teams tables?

If that isn't clear I can try to make it clearer

like...you want to copy records from table 1 to table 2...or you want to reference the information in table 1 in table 2?

You mean from excel to access or from one database in access to another one?

I suggest that your either 1. study relational database theory/understand the relational model or 2. if you are not willing to invest in this learning you might be better off just using Excel.
