Most (all?) MLS teams have youth academies now.

This is a fairly recent (last 3-5 years) development.

that are still light years behind

Watching German kids play they are so much more technical than their american counterparts or even HS players.

Yeah it's great that the MLS has their own academies now. Yes they are not as good as those in Europe but they don't have the history and money that the Euro clubs have. I think 10 years from now we will see a difference in homegrown talent. This is the better way to go than going through the college system.

What teams don't have them?

I feel like, at this point, Garber should require all teams to have them.
