It will really suck. Probably just because I will be shopping at Walmart and all the douche kids who go there and loiter around the store after school will now be high as a kite and even worse.

Yeah it's as if he thinks those kids at Walmart aren't already high. As if they can't get their hands on weed unless it's legal.

A poll conducted by Public Policy Polling (PPP) in August of 2013 shows that 65% of Louisiana residents support legalizing marijuana for medical purposes and 64% of respondents also opposed current Louisiana law which allows life sentences for marijuana possession if the defendant has a prior felony record.

Am I the only one that's amazed by this? The vast majority of people are in favor of some form of legalization, yet it's not legal? Also, WTF is that shite about getting a life sentence if a felon has some weed on em? That's bullshite.

Because of dumb minimum sentencing requirements for crimes like weed possession that take common sense out of the courtroom.

I don't smoke weed, but I think it should be legal... I think it's pretty dumb that it's illegal. Also think the drinking age should be lowered but that's another debate.

The argument that weed is harmless and in many instances beneficial isn't going to win La. to the cause any time soon. The argument that the Federal Gov.'s violent and expensive and futile War On Drugs will continue to be waged in our streets and against our children with or without our support can potentially rouse a lot of rabble in these parts. Framing the issue as State's Rights will take a media puppeteer the likes of Carville, but there's a path here for a Jindal presidency.

Louisiana won't legalize because its the right thing to do, but we just might legalize because DC says we can't.

There's very little chance that it happens in Louisiana, or in the vast majority of the South.

Because I have spent time around a good bit of them before. I can tell. The group I knew would be great candidates for half this board to mock. Criminals, no personal responsibility, tax payer funded kids and food.

Not saying everyone who smokes is a miscreant and will abuse the system like those morons. But the stoners I have had contact with suck.

Not as bad as walmart though, it really sucks.
