The guy is not bad at all. Notice that once Armstead became adjusted to the game the offensive line looked a hell of a lot better. Look at what the running game was able to go the last few weeks.
I might be in the minority, but center is not my main concern, or even close.
you're a minority
We all know, lines work as a unit, one weak point and we're gonna have issues. If the tackles play well and can handle their 1v1s, the guards and center can handle 3v2. But if the tackles don't play well, that means the guard has to help, and that leaves the inside 1v1. I know its making this sound extremely basic way of 'blocking', but if you could improve at the center position (not having to use a 1st or 2nd rounder) wouldn't you?
I mean with the first 2 picks, we could go receiver/DB and shore up 2 of our biggest deficiencies.
On the defensive side, we get butler back, so OLB should be shored up. If we can sign Parys to a 2 year deal, we're looking pretty deep with haralson, galette, and butler. ILB we are stuck with lofton/hawthorne so we could always throw a late round for ILB. our dline are still young so that isn't a priority. Only thing we're missing is DB (this season definitely tested our depth). We lost greer, prob, and Vaccaro...arguably 3 of our 4 best DBs. We'll get vaccaro back, but we're looking at losing greer to retirement, prob is no better than a #3 so resigning him isn't a bad idea, harper due to salary cap issues, and jenkins potentially leaving in FA.
Biggest Need imo: DB
On the offensive end, we need to get younger at the receiving corp for sure, we have jimmy [assuming tag/signed], hill, and watson at the TE position. No need for RB or QB yet imo. The line can be improved, 37 sacks is way too much.
biggest need imo: WR and then center
I mean where else do we go? lol
