Have yet to see a single person make any $$$ on herbalife, Vi, YBR, etc etc....I can say "no" but how do you convince someone (my worthless 29 year old brother in law) that he needs to get a job and stop trying to get rich quick, especially off these scams...He is on his 6th pyriamid scheme in three years and am sick of hearing his bs... and have any of you ever heard of anyone making money of this cr&p other than the top few? am I wrong in viewing these things as cults? And if you have made it with one of these groups, good for you,

Laugh in their face and tell them how stupid they were for falling for the bull shite they are telling you.

Shaming them is the only way to stop repeat offenders.

Paging Coco311.

The answer is you can't and if you do try, you'll just drive a wedge between you and your family. Stats show that 99% of the people that invest in these scams lose lots of money, so basically you just need to be there for them when they fail. Sorry you're having to deal with this.

Some people, you just have to be an arse to. They won't take a polite "no thanks," for an answer.

"Hey man, I'm really flattered you'd let me on your deal! Sounds like it's gonna work out great for you.

Funny thing is, as excited as you are about XXX, I feel the same way about my biz, so I'm gonna keep putting 100% into it.

Hey, keep up to date how it's going!"

I have a chick i went to high school with, who i guess has been getting some heat on FB over her LIMU shite

She gets all upset and vents and starts defending her decisions....."I can do what I want with my life!!!! Just because i have found a 'different' path to success doesn't make me any less than you!!!"

i love it

My aunt, uncle and cousins have been trying all these for about 15 years now and they don't seem to be any better off than they were before they got involved. Every time they drop one get rich quick scheme and start another one, they ensure me this will be the one that takes them to the top. It's funny and sad at the same time.

Lately I've had family members bombarded through social media and their friends selling Limu magical drink, Pampered Chef magical kitchen tools, and Nerium magical skin lotion.

It's ridiculous how many soccer moms and granny's get sucked into buying this stuff from people who I aggregate into the category of worthless salesman (car salesman, most realtors, primerica financial shite etc.)

Why wasn't Primerica included in your list?

Buy a copy of Dianetics and use it as a prop to act like you are recruiting them into Scientology.

i know people who make money on this. honestly, these are excellent sales people who got in when the company was young or had not over saturated the area(and had a decent product).

i know people who have made an exceptional amount of money on mary kay, amway, lumi juice, plexus... but these people were career women who are driven and opted to "go into business for themselves" to have more flexible hours with their children's schools schedules.

as far as advice for your family member, what would you tell a family member who was making a bad career choice of a different kind? I let my family do what they want and only give my opinion when asked.

Preemptively try to sell them on a "great moneymaking opportunity" you have for them.

Walk the math out for him.

I don't remember my calculus, but I've actually done the math on excel.

Mathematically, pyramid schemes do in act work. The problem is that there aren't enough people in the world to go around.

Prior to you BIL getting rich, the population of the world will "run out".
