Don't think so. Only Burger Chef was on Govmt where Dufroq Elem is not. Cajun Blaze FTW.

There was one a loooong time ago near campus (70's) but I'm pretty sure it was not on Nicholson.

I think the building you're thinking of was the Pizza Hut on Nicholson (are you talking really close to Nicholson and Aster?)

It was on Highland and became the "29 cent Hamburger Stand". Then they raised it a dime and it was the "39 cent Hamburger Stand." Anyone else remember that?

Yep. It was the only way I could afford to eat.

Next to the Lebanese restaurant was Tigris Deli when I went to LSU 2007 to 2012.

Maybe so... The structure is like a Pizza Hut type place.

The one on Highland's been there for decades.

No way they would have built another one of those shite stands just one street over. There's no need for it.

So it's doubtful there was ever one on Nicholson.

that place on nicholson has been many different things over the last several years. I remember buying boiled crawfish there in 2005 from some asian people. It was a couple of other things before and after that. Now it has been empty for the last 2-3 years and i only see it used as parking on gamedays.

Wienerschnitzel has always been on highland.

The truth. I remember Muntz Tape City(8 track
tapes) next to it back in the late '60s.

This. Wienerschnitzel was there in the '70s, then my husband said it left and became the 29 Cent Hamburger Stand, and later moved back into that same location.

The Pizza Hut on Nicholson is where Atcha Bakery (Greek/Lebanese place) is now.

And Topwater, you're right, the Burger Chef on Highland was in the Jack-in-the-Box location, on the right as you head away from campus (which also housed Popeye's back in the late '80s).

I can't recall anything else being in the Burger King location, but there might have been something else there.

Does anyone remember Uncle Ben's Fried Chicken & ice cream, kind of a drive-in place on the left side of Nicholson as you head from campus to downtown? It was there in the '70s...I have fond memories of my dad taking us for dipped cones there after swim practice at LSU.

I remember Uncle Bens. I also remember Bonapartes Fried Chicken and Danny's Fried Chicken.

Only Weinerschnitzel in the state is Highland and I'm not sure how that dude keeps that franchise agreement up. Place is nasty.
