No they didn't, and most importantly, they had zero contributions.

UAB athletics frequently operates at a defecit. Requiring actual contributions is in the best interest of the school.

For the record, UA came up in $240 million in real contributions for it's athletic expansions the last decade.

Well it's not like you can raise money for a project that is going to get shut down.

They had people ready.
