Good job, WRS! Your son will love you (at least until the next time you tell him, "No" for something he wants to do ). As far as suggested ammo, I'd just get whatever inexpensive 7-08 ammo you can find. The reduced recoil loads should hit considerably lower than full power loads. As your son grows, you can add a slip on recoil pad as a temporary measure before buying an adult stock.
