I think it is, if you think he belongs in. If you put Fred McGriff, for example, on your ballot instead, and your rationale is "I think Bagwell is better and I don't think McGriff will get in, but it would be cool if he got to be on the ballot one more year," then that's some messed-up thinking.

And you're creating the logjam that causes the rationale that allows Jeff Bagwell to wait.
