Where does it say this?

I'm surrounded by people who hate LSU, and not a single person has said this. Are you around shitty LSU "fans"?

I've always viewed up-tempo offenses as bitch ball. It's pretty much saying "yeah, we don't have the talent to play you like a man, so we're gonna try to snap the ball before you're ready and not let you substitute because you're better than us."

How is not letting the D substitute in agreement with player safety? The defense should get a chance to substitute. Make hurry up legal in like the last 5 minutes of each half IMO.

SO, if a team is gonna play bitch ball and try and snap it before the D is ready, I have no problem with the D slowing that pussy shite down.

Hurry up is the equivalent of a sucker punch. Just cowardly behavior.

Classic tiger rant, let the roles be reversed and watch the million threads crying about whatever team is faking injuries against us

Exactly, that's the sad part.

If the only reason your offense works is because of tempo, then maybe you either lack the skills to call a good offensive game or you lack the talent. Why else would a team NEED hurry up in order to be successful?

I was always taught in every team sport that if I was even slightly injured or thought I might be injured to lay on the ground to stop play. Even if it was a hand injury. Get on the ground.

This is nothing new.

I wouldn't. I would be exactly like I was with Crowton- bitching about wanting to run a pro style offense instead of this spread bullshite.

What if your team is down 3 scores with 10 minutes left? Letting the defense get set and ready only chews up the clock for your team on offense.

I agree the defense should be allowed to substitute but it's a style of offense.

Wow this is stupid.

Also, amazing to see people say, with no self-awareness at all, that faking an injury is not poor sportsmanship.

I didn't realize we faked injuries to slow down offenses. That is truly low class. If you don't see that, well...

some of the casual iowa fans i know are saying this but people who paid attention to the game aren't.

iowa was lucky it was a 7 pt game, if your QB could make any throws, it would have been 21.

All players are told to get on the ground if they are injured so the medical staff can come to them to check them out. That's why you now see players go down a few seconds after the play ends. This is particularly true with cramps late in games. No point in trying to belly crawl to the sideline. Seems to be part of the new emphasis on safety. Who knows whether we fake injuries or not?

Yep. The coaching point is to not try to hobble to the sidelines if you get a cramp or whatever. Just get down. Maybe they are exaggerating but they're not faking. Totally different, in my opinion, from situations like the Cal defenders who were getting signals in from the sidelines to collapse.

Yes. I live in Houston and I can't walk out side to mail box or go get a donut at DD without some random A-hole walking up to me and saying LSU cheated. its ridiculous. its all everyone cares about.

It probably has more to do about getting a substitution so the defender can catch his breathe more than anything

All sports are about gaining advantages over your opponent within the rules of the game.

Would I be frustrated if an opponent did it to LSU? Of course. But not because I thought it was cheating or low class, I would be frustrated because they would be gaining an advantage over LSU at that moment.

If you know your opponent is injured, is it poor sportsmanship to attack that injury? No, you are simply using his disadvantage to your advantage.

It's sports.
