What are viewing distances? That's where size matters. Sure the pixel count will be the same, but if you're too far you can get a larger picture with no discernible quality difference.
For the most part, if it's acceptable for your viewing distance, go bigger.

Here's my setup. The tube TV is great, but a bit small. The blue couch now directly faces the fireplace and the two chairs are facing the TV.
