To get stuff in and out you just nimbly climb up a ladder? I can see this failing on my part... good thing I have a tall SO.
It would be good for winter stuff though, where we won't need access often(snowboards/clothes/blankets)

i can barey get my ice chests out by reaching up and dragging them off the edge... you wouldn't need anything more than a step stool

Look at my link. It's similar but you can raise and lower the shelves
