The Havalon's good for skinning deer, as long as that's all it's being used for. All the deer I killed this year were bullets that I'd never used before. Consequently, I opened the chests on the deer to see just how the bullets performed. The Havalon does NOT work for opening up the chest. (Yep, I tried…. ) For the hunter who just skins or cuts meat, it works fine. The blades are easily removed/replaced and are inexpensive (IIRC, about $0.50 apiece).
