Just wondering what the board's thoughts are this vehicle. I've never owned a Hyundai so I'm just wondering if this is a decent car to buy. The car is still under warranty. Sonata owners, please chime in with some pros and cons.

Hyundai makes really safe vehicles. I think the Santa Fe is their best model, from what I've read.

i have an 06 that has 66k miles on it and other than some minor things it is still running well

i think i have to have my CV joint on the front/passenger side examined, but i have been in a wreck

other than that and my door handle (somebody tried to break into my car and fricked up the handle...next morning i use it and it breaks off), the only problem i've had is the tube that squirts the winshield stuff is clogged

I like them okay.....but my parents had a 2010 Genesis that was such a piece of garbage that I was reluctant to buy a Sonata this year when we were car shopping. They said it was the worst car they've had since the 1980s, and would leave them stranded frequently with countless unrelated issues.

I'd stick to shopping for a Fusion or Malibu for a good used car deal. If you can find an Accord for a decent deal, that would be my recommendation.

my father. has a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. due to his extensive research when he was car shopping I knew that if my father purchased a Hyundai Sonata it must be a good vehicle.

I followed his footsteps and purchased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata as well....it is an excellent vehicle, great gas mileage, Very Few issues.....consumer reports really likes the Sonata as well, great reviews

Hyundai has gotten progressively better and 2011 was the beginning/mid-point of that rise.

That said, it better be a smoking deal or I would stay with Toyota or Honda for a used car purchase.
