Sorry if this has already been covered, but has anyone seen this ESPN story in its entirety? I am curious about where the various LSU BCS championship game teams rank but I am not an ESPN insider.

All three games are pretty low on the scale.

I'm sure the 2007 team has to be ranked at the bottom of all BCSCG winners. I mean, they can't possibly be expected to do any more in-depth analysis than simply saying "only 2-loss champion = worst champion". I'd expect the 2003 team to not be far above the 2007 team due to the split title and the media lust for USC. Of course, Nick Saban having been our coach back then (considering what he has done at Bama) might help a little.

Bottom line....any intertemporal analysis is nothing more than pure speculation.

I'd guess 2007 and 2003 are low amongst the champs. I wouldn't be surprised to see 2011 LSU ahead of both teams. We defeated:

12-1 Bama, national champs
12-2 Oregon, Rose Bowl/PAC champs
10-3 WVU, Orange Bowl/Big East champs
11-2 Arky, Cotton Bowl winner
10-4 UGA, SEC East sacrificial lamb

I doubt any of the other 31 teams have 5 wins like that.

LSU would have been the undisputed best BCS champion in 2011/2012 if they would not have laid the great egg.

Nobody could have doubted them after looking at their accomplishments on the field that year without any bias.

They beat the most top teams of any champion if memory serves.

So close yet so far. Nobody else would have been given a second chance to play against the team that beat them out already for their division championship much less their conference championship that the wretched gumps didn't even have to play in a game that weekend.

Their entire championship streak really needs to be snuffed by LSU and only by LSU over the next few years to make this right. They've been manipulating the rules and perceptions on every level and it has definitely effected things like that rematch decisions and many more things.

14th - 2003
19th - 2007
