placebo syndrome

Considering I have measurable/quantifiable improvements to mpg, I wouldn't quite say placebo. And no, my driving habits are the same. I commute 120 miles a day via interstate with no traffic.

The gasoline you buy at the pump is typically around 10% ethanol, which is basically a fuel system cleaner in itself. Running sea foam or any other cleaner like that too often will actually do more damage because because you're adding a higher percentage of ethanol to your fuel.

If they were just changing the oil there was no way for them to actually see the inside of the throttle body. So unless they pulled your air intake off and looked...they're feeding you a load of crap.

That being said, if you have any kind of mechanical ability, you can clean the TB in less than 30min.

Running no ethanol gas will probably get you same results and maybe cheaper.
