What a wonderful place. We visited Destin a few weeks ago and the fishing was absolutely incredible for this time of the year. We only had to go out a few miles to land into the deep water

I never knew how incredible Destin's sand is. It was like I was walking on White Sugar.

We found several restaurants that were amazing. I am now going to consider Destin as my Holiday place.

I've outgrown the drinking and getting fricked up all night scene so I really have no clue how Destin's bar/club scene is - nor do I care.

Overall, it was a great time to relax, have a couple of drinks and eat magnificent food. I had no idea that Destin was like this. Awesome little place on the Gulf Coast

Too crowded now in the summer. I prefer The Portofino in Pensacola.

Not sure why some people are giving it hell. Destin is a great spot.

If you want a good time, get a room at the Hilton in Sandestin. The hotel and everything that comes with it is top notch.

There are better and less crowded beaches on the Gulf side. Destin is too touristy anymore.

I hadn't been to Destin for twenty years until a few years ago. The beaches are sugary white and clean, the water is beautiful, and it is a great place to relax. Perfect and just a few hours drive from New Orleans. If I want nightlife and beach I'll go to South Beach, but for relaxation and enjoyment, it is hard to beat IMO.

I like the fishing in Destin for an occasional deep sea outing.

If you think Destin is that nice you should trek a little bit further East to the beaches and communities of 30A. Santa Rosa, Grayton, Watercolor, etc. That is AWESOME!

Are you sure you were in Destin? Go there in the summer or spring and lets get your opinion then!

If you're not interested in going out. But just a nice relaxing week go about an hour or so to the east. To Cape San Blas, nothing to do but relax.

There was a place called the Leeside Inn on the bayside. Very reasonably priced hotel. It had a dock out back with a long pier. It was where most of the oldtimers put their boats. It had a bar halfway down the pier. You could give them 10 bucks and they gave you a giant steak and you could cook it yourself outside the bar. Awesome place. Really good fishing right from the dock when you got in for the day. It got totaled by a hurricane and its hard to even find the spot where it used to be. Some of the best times of my life were spent there.

Fishing sucks in destin. The only thing worth the time to fish in
destin is cobia right along the beach. The "deep sea" fishing trips they take you on are over night trips to Louisiana waters.
But you're right about the beaches, restraunts and shopping.

And if you ever decided to pull that stick out of your arse there are a few nice bars in the area that even a mature adult such as yourself can enjoy.

If you go back during the summer rent a pontoon boat and take the wife and kids to crab Island. They will love it and it's a great way to spend an entire day away from the beach and pool at the condo.
