I think it was a lateral at best, but I don't think they should take the record away. The "pass" was made during the first half. He could have easily thrown for the record if he played another series.

Then he should have. All season he was throwing bombs up 17+ points in the 4th qtr. One more wouldn't have hurt

Sure he could have passed for more but he didn't. Every game has these adjustments and this one is no difference. If he wanted the record he should have beaten it by more then one yard.

Dumbest argument ever. HE DIDN'T!!! Statistics do not rely on assumptions, that's why they are statistics.

He could've also blown out his knee on the next series and Denver been fricked for the playoffs.
