I love to set steel in the ground and love even more for others to get interested in it. Offshore does an awesome thread every year so until he gets started back I will try to run my trapline and update every day. So starting with yesterday the catch wasn't that great . My final tally for yestday was two grey fox, 1 opossum, and a house cat.
[[im
The bonus for yesterday was saw this guy in a field circling around a cow with a new calf and shot him

Cool thread.
A long, long, time ago, when I was a youngin, we used to trap coons on the side of a lake.
Sets were so easy. Pick a tree in about 6" of water, set trap under the water, cover with a few leaves, nail a bird etc to tree above trap, profit.
Profit being a subjective word there, but was fun all the same.
You seem to have it going on with your sets!

that'd make for a neat conversation piece hanging on the wall.

What do you do with these feral cats? Skin em out? Make a hat?
nothing better than a little pussy on your head

Trapping foxes for their fur is ridiculous. Foxes are worth more today alive than any other animal, because they make great pets and are easily trained.
Some are willing to pay as much as $4,000 for one.

Dude there is no need to use steel jawed traps. Havahart traps work just as well.
Here is the little guy after I let him go free.
