I do a lot of trapping and mostly use dirt hole sets or flat sets. I switched to a KB 5.5 this year and absolutely love them. kb traps. Just remember when targeting cats their nose isn't that great but their eyes are so eye appeal means a lot. I usually tie a white feather or two on a piece of fishing line and hang above the traps. As for bait for cats I use prime rib with a little gland lure.
Now for coyote I use a bait that is slightly infused with skunk essence. It makes coyote and fox turn on a dime. I try not to use a gland scent on my canine sets cause I don't want to target just fox or vice versa. about a teaspoon of bait per set. I hope this helps a little if you want to see some sets I would be glad to post some pics.
