Cydia Tweak: How To Install iOS 7.0.6's SSL Security Patch Without Updating

Apple published a minor update for its iOS recently, patching a serious SSL bug in the mobile OS. Though the updated software, iOS 7.0.6, can be jailbroken using evasi0n7, the process of updating, restoring, and re-jailbreaking one's iOS device is laborious at best. Fortunately, however, one new jailbreak tweak allows users to patch the SSL bug without having to install iOS 7.0.6.

The new jailbreak tweak, SSLPatch, was developed by Ryan Petrich (@rpetrich) and is available to download from his beta repository, LINK /. Of course, you'll need to have added this address to the “Sources” section of your Cydia app before searching for and installing the jailbreak tweak.

As mentioned, the good news is that Petrich's package allows users to fix the SSL security flaw without going through the jailbreak process all over again. There are no options to configure once SSLPatch has been downloaded, and applying the patch is as simple as installing the package on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
